On November 15, 2023 the house was successfully placed on a new foundation. The holes for the moving beams are not blocked and work will resume on this project in 2024.
After moving from his farm 4 1/2 miles south of Beaumont Alfred Dubord built his retirement home one block from the church in 1919. In the 1930’s Léopold Magnan bought the house and it has remained in the family. Our plan is to ensure this picturesque home is preserved and made available for use as an office for the Beaumont & District Agricultural Society and an historic resource.
On Wednesday, October 29th, 2020 the house was moved to the nearby Agricultural Society Fairgrounds. Below is video of the house being lifted, and moving day follows
